THE REBELLION OF THE MONKEY KING!

Once upon a time, a few days ago, in the far off kingdom of Bedroomland

For as long as anyone can remember there had been peace in Bedroomland, and Cooperman and Baileygirl had co-existed in harmony with all of the Stuffed Folk. But that was all about to change.

One day the Monkey King found out about a new law that the Parent-Folk had enacted. Furious about this blatant discrimination and lack of representation in the legislative process, the Monkey King gathered all of his minions and decided to wreak havoc on Bedroomland.

Cooperman and Baileygirl went to the Council of Teddy Bears for advice on how to handle this uprising. Baileygirl could see immediately that these Teddy Bears were nothing but a bunch of clowns. "Let's go Cooperman," She said. "These crackpots can't help us."

"Mount up Cooperman, we'll have to go all the way across Bedroomland to find someone who is wise enough to help us."

"Who could that be?" wondered Cooperman.

"Where to my Super-Sister?"

"We have to ask the Elephants," she said. "They never forget anything, so they must know alot."

They tirelessly rode their trusty mounts, Giraffe and Lion, all the way across Bedroomland without even stopping for a nap until they had made it all the way to Far Corner.

They sought an audience with the Elephants, and asked them what they should do about the Monkey crisis. The Elephants just sat there is quiet deliberation.

"I don't like the feel of this Cooperman," Baileygirl said. "I think it's a trap."

And sure enough, the Elephants were in league with the Monkey King, and it was a trap.

"I'll handle this," Cooperman shouted.

He grabbed the biggest Elephant that he could and began to give him a savage beating.

"Take that!"

Cooperman threw the mighty Elephant all the way to the Moon. After they had dispatched the mightiest Elephant so easily, the rest of the herd fled in fear and Cooperman and Baileygirl set out to confront the Monkey King himself.

They hadn't gone far when the Monkey King appeared in front of them.

"Can't we talk about this?" the Monkey King pleaded.

But before Cooperman and Baileygirl could reply, they realized that this was yet another ambush.

"Look out!"

Little Monkeys were coming at them from everywhere, but our heroes were fast and strong.

Cooperman jumped on the Monkey King and they began an epic battle that will be talked about in Bedroomland for generations to come.

Eventually, with the help of his most clever sister, Cooperman was able to subdue the renegade Monkey King, and they made him promise to not get into anymore trouble.

With that adventure concluded, they hung up their capes and had a bottle and a nap.

So until next time, remember to be good.

Today's Top 5

I just love Bailey and Cooper's eye colors. I often find myself running around the house cleaning and whatnot and the jumparoo will get quiet and I know immediately...

that Coop has fallen asleep.
We got a wonderful basket at our Baby Shower with two robes for the babies, a pink and blue one for 0-9 months. Well the twins are hurriedly approaching 9 months so I figured they had better start getting some use out of these robes before they quickly outgrow them. Unfortunately, many things have been outgrown and seldom used.
Like the Return of the Jedi blanket. Todd thought it was his all along. It isnow, but it hasn't always been. It belonged to my cousin Chris when he was really little (and the movie had just come out) and when my little brother was born it got passed onto him and somehow I ended up with it.
The car says it all.

New Toy Box

I was tired of seeing basketfuls of toys all over the living room, I needed something a little bigger to hold the twins toys. I bought this at Target and had Cooper inspect it.

"Nice and sturdy, Mom."
"Lots of Toy space. I think it will work."

It's the Hard-Knock Life

Today we went and picked up pictures from Olan Mills and then headed to a Playdate in Concord. We would have been really early so I drove around taking pictures of Campbell County. Here is one of my favorites.

I can't believe it, six months already!

Coming soon...the First Adventure of Cooper-Man and Bailey-Girl featuring their quality homemade quilts by Psychic Sue!

12 Weeks Old

I am really getting a kick out of some of this older footage. I cannot seem to get over how quickly the twin are growing. How much control over their movements they seem to have now as compared to several months ago. At the time this was taped Cooper had just started rolling over and babbling. Now he is starting to scoot and scream. Bailey is so small in this piece. She is swimming in those PJs and trying so hard to grab her brothers hand.

One thing that hasn't reallly changed, the spitting up.

Our pediatrician assures me that it will stop eventually, say before high school graduation.

The Twins at 7 Weeks Old

So I finally decided today that I was going to figure out my camcorder the twins got me for Christmas(yes, before they were even born, how very thoughtful they are). I spent several hours on it but finally I figured some of it out and I was able to watch some of the first things we recorded. I just can't get over how little these guys were. It's not very exciting but this was taped when the twins were about 5 or so weeks old. I am going to try and post some newer more recent stuff but we don't use the Handyman as often as we should. The recent trip down memory lane will hopefully change that.

Thing 1 & Thing 2

Ladies and Gentleman, I am pleased to introduce to you, Thing 1 and Thing 2:

I don't know why Blogger keeps turning these pictures on their side, they are not like that on my computer and I have reloaded them twice, silly blogger.

Jockey's Ridge

I have been going to the Outer Banks for 16 years now on and off with my family. Every year that we go we take one evening and visit Jockey's Ridge, the largest sand dune on the east coast. This year we tried to slip it in early but the weather was so bad that we had to go one morning to squeeze it in. It is a pretty fun place for children a little older than ours who love to roll down the large dune.

It is so large that you can find youself totally alone, like R2-D2 and C-3PO pictured here.

Ahh, have I ever mentioned I hate seeing myself in pictures? I only do it so that when the children get older they will know I was there.

Our nephew, X-Man checking out the sand.
All the cousins on their first trip to the dunes.
Going home, this should have been the last picture, oh well.
That fun hill I was referring to that people of all ages like to run, jump and roll down.
The Thomas' on their first Beach Trip.
The Colbert's on theirs.
